TBS is an abbreviation of the English corporate name Tokyo Broadcasting System, Inc. The company changed its name from Radio Tokyo, Inc. to Tokyo Broadcasting System, Inc. on November 29, 1960, and began using its corporate logo TBS. It is the third-largest television broadcaster in Japan.
